DETAILS: Meet @ Brookhaven - Monday
Hammerheads!
It was great to see so many of your swimmers at the Time Trial this morning. Thank you for your patience as we work through the timing system.
Our first official meet of the season is this Monday, June 5 at Brookhaven! This will be our only away meet besides Champs. All the details for the meet are below (it’s a long one, sorry!!!).
TIMELINE
- Brookhaven Country Club - 3333 Golfing Green Dr, Farmers Branch, TX 75234
- 7:30 - Arrive and check in with Coach Allison or Coach Kendall.
- 7:55-8:20 - ROCC warm-up
- 8:25 - National Anthem
- 8:30 - Meet starts
- 11:30/12 - Meet should conclude
WHAT TO BRING
- 2 pairs of goggles
- 2 towels
- Swim cap (we will have them available for purchase if needed)
- Sunscreen
- Snacks
- Something to keep your swimmer occupied between events (card game, activity book, etc.)
- Camp/folding chair in case there is not enough seating
POOL ENTRY
When you arrive at Brookhaven and pull onto the main drive, it dead ends into the building. Please park to the right and enter the pool from that direction. There is a long tree lined path between the building and golf course that will take you to the pool entrance. There are signs. The pool is not accessible from the left side entrance anymore.
SEATING / TEAM AREAS
Brookhaven has a big deck with lots of space, but not a ton of shade. If you want to bring tents and chairs for your swimmers, that is fine. Our team area will be located by the adult pool. As we are visitors, please be sure to pick up and leave our area clean at the conclusion of the meet.
FOOD
The club will have water, coffee, snacks, and light breakfast options. I believe that you can pay cash or use a credit card for food, and you may also be able to use your ROCC member number.
READY BENCH
Please make sure you and/or your swimmer(s) listen for their events to be called to the ready bench. Upon arrival at the ready bench, volunteers will get them lined up, but it is the swimmer’s responsibility to report to the ready bench when called. Coaches will help ensure they are where they need to be as well.
VOLUNTEERS
We are still looking to fill several volunteer positions for the Brookhaven meet. If you are planning on attending the meet, please consider helping.
SWIMTOPIA APP
If you haven't already, you may want to download the Swimtopia App. It is a great way to track your swimmer(s), see what events your swimmer is competing in, what volunteer positions you have signed-up for during the season, etc. Also, if you opt into the monthly subscription for $2.99 you can see what time your swimmer’s event is expected to start as well as real time results. Just remember to cancel it in July!
As always, let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Caroline
